Hi! I have been in love with the Dresden Files since I very randomly started on Storm Front. Now that I’ve reached the end of the series, I’m looking for other things while I wait for the rest.
I’ve read the first two Sandman Slim books. While I appreciate the sass there’s something missing to me. I’m not as grabbed as I was with Butcher. Maybe it’s like people say around the first three books of the Dresden Files (even though I never felt that, but maybe it has to do with how James Marsters was crooning them to me)? Should I carry on because it improves?
Do you recommend something else?
I’ve been mentioned Alex Cross (is that right?).

As a point of reference, I… Tried three time to get through the first book of game of thrones… And always ends up being distracted by good fanfiction instead. Or my own ideas. I’m a Buffy and Veronica Mars kind of girl. I like Poe and Baldacci. 8 have other references but English is not my first language.
So.
This long. But. I know we lovers of something like to spread it around. If you read through this all and it lit up a light bulb… Please share?

There’s a book recs tag here. Rivers of London is a good series, I’ve heard. Iron Druid turns up some times. My most popular post on this blog is for “A Key, An Egg, An Unfortunate Remark” which I’ve heard good things about. If you want something by a female author, I will eternally pimp Sam Stones books because I love the lady. I need to catch up to them.

Tattoos are something different to me. It’s not about “Oh. These make me look sexy.” I mean, I feel so much pride, the more tattoos I get but it’s deeper than that.
To know that you can ‘suffer’ for something… Honestly, not even feeling anything at all through the whole process to have something that won’t leave you. That permanence you pray for every time you fall in love that’ll make you feel better; whole… That’s what tattoos give me. Ever since I got the first one, that I couldn’t stop looking at and following in love with again and again everyday.. I knew it was something deeper than that.
It is art. It is commitment. It is a reminder that for as long as my skin bares ink, permanency is possible.
